How Alarmly notifies you of an alarm
Push, SMS or a phone call — the system escalates until someone answers.
Three ways we reach you
- •Push notification: sent over the internet to the app, with a standard or siren sound depending on the event.
- •SMS: sent to the phone number you provided when creating your account.
- •Phone call: the hub calls you directly — but only for alarms, to make sure it actually gets your attention.
How the calls escalate
- •The hub calls users in the order they're listed under Users in the settings.
- •A new call is placed at most every 2 minutes until someone answers.
- •The call disconnects automatically as soon as someone picks up.
Choose what you're notified about
- •Admins and PROs can customize notification types per user or property.
- •Each user can also fine-tune their own notification preferences in the app.
- •Intrusion, panic, fire and leak alarms can be set to Off, Standard, or Critical alert.
- •Doorbell rings can be configured the same way.
- •Camera detections are always sent as a standard push notification.
Only users added to the hub, plus the monitoring company if connected, receive notifications — add everyone who needs to be able to react to an alarm.
